Heather Turner named as a McKnight’s Women of Distinction Veteran VIP

The Veteran VIP category recognizes professionals with more than 15 years of experience who are making an impact on the senior living industry at levels leading up to vice president or its equivalent.
Since joining the LCS Family of Companies in November 2001, LCS has relied on her experience to serve seniors in more than 10 communities across the United States in varying administration and executive leadership roles. Her successful track record led to a promotion in 2013 to Executive Director at Timber Ridge at Talus, a nearly 400 bed, 630-acre resort style life plan community in Issaquah, WA. Her leadership at Timber Ridge has guided the community to achieve 100% units sold in independent living, and whole-house occupancy (IL, skilled nursing, AL and MC) of 96.43%.
Heather’s passion for serving seniors began while she was in high school, interning at two communities in the Midwest while earning an associate degree, two bachelor’s degrees, and ultimately a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
Turner serves on the Leading Age Washington Board of Directors and serves on the organization’s Nursing Home and Life Plan Community Cabinets. She spends time as a mentor for fellow administrators and often hosts associate administrators through the LCS Professional Development Program.
Turner and other nominees will be celebrated May 14, 2024, during the in-person 2024 McKnight’s Women of Distinction gala ceremony in Chicago. To learn more about the McKnight’s Women of Distinction award honorees, visit the McKnight’s Senior Living website.
