LCS Development, An LCS Company, has signed on as a resource partner with UniversityRetirementCommunities.com, the nation’s leading resource for retirees looking to find a University Retirement Community (URC) – senior living communities associated with higher education institutions. The site is also a valuable tool to connect universities and providers who want to develop a URC with industry partners for assessments, development, marketing, and operations management.

“As the number of baby boomers continues to grow, our industry has an incredible opportunity to provide innovative retirement options, including intergenerational retirement communities,” said Chuck Murphy, LCS Executive Vice President/Senior Managing Director of Development. “LCS Development is eager to use this partnership, our industry expertise, and our experience with URCs to shape the next generation of senior living.”

LCS has a long-standing history of supporting URC’s going back to 1988 when its member company, Life Care Services, began management for Green Hills, a 55+ Life Plan Community located minutes from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. LCS Development also served as the developer for Broadview Senior Living, a university retirement community on the campus of Purchase College, a State University of New York college in Purchase, New York. This innovative community and one of its charter members inspired a documentary by the New York City PBS network that debuted in January of 2024.

“Resource partners represent a critical element of our goal for UniversityRetirementCommunities.com to be a one-stop shop, not only for individuals seeking locations and information on such communities, but academic institutions or related organizations seeking to development a new, or improve upon an existing, University Retirement Community,” stated Andrew Carle, Founder of the website. “LCS Development is the perfect partner for providing this resource.”
