Sharon Roth Maguire Named to McKnight’s Women of Distinction Hall of Honor

Feb 16, 2024
Sharon Roth Maguire has been selected as a 2024 member of the Hall of Honor in the McKnight’s Women of Distinction awards program. Maguire serves as Senior Vice President/Chief Health & Wellness/Resident Experience Officer at LCS, the nation’s third-largest senior living operator.

The Hall of Honor category consists of senior-level professionals in the C-suite or at a level equivalent to vice president or higher that have made a significant impact on their organizations and the senior living industry.

Maguire’s enthusiasm for the senior living industry is illustrated by an impressive and pervasive history in the field. Her passion for health and wellness combined with 30-plus years of healthcare industry experience provides impeccable value to her career at LCS. Maguire joined LCS as the Vice President/Director of Health Services in 2021 and was quickly elevated to her current role. Her leadership drives teams that are focused on person-centered, outcome-oriented healthcare delivery as well as supporting people and systems including health and wellness programming, clinical quality support, EHR support, clinical analytics, and clinical regulatory/compliance support across all areas of care for LCS. As complements to her role, Maguire oversees two LCS Signature Experiences: Health & Wellness Navigation and Heartfelt Connections, a proprietary memory care signature experience.

In addition to her extensive healthcare background, Maguire has served on numerous boards and associations in the senior living industry. This includes the Alzheimer’s Association, Florida Senior Living Association, and National Conference of Gerontological Nurse Practitioners where she served as President. She is also a member of Argentum, where she was the first chairperson of the inaugural Clinical/Quality Executives Roundtable from 2005-2008 when it was known as the Assisted Living Federation of America.

Maguire has a considerable catalog of articles published in various professional and industry journals on the topics of aging, dementia, senior living, home care, medications, fall prevention, quality, nursing, and more. She is also a frequent speaker at the national level on a variety of topics relevant to senior care, including therapeutic environments, person-centered care, and healthcare informatics.

An educator at heart, Maguire has spent over two decades in academia. She was on faculty at the College of Nursing at Rush University where she designed and implemented the first undergraduate clinical course in gerontological nursing and served as a clinical assistant professor at Marquette University’s College of Nursing, piloting a unique accelerated entry program for students of all courses of study entering the nursing field.

Maguire earned her undergraduate degree at Marquette University and her master’s in Gerontology, and advanced-practice nursing at Boston University.

Maguire and other nominees will be celebrated May 14, 2024, during the in-person 2024 McKnight’s Women of Distinction gala ceremony in Chicago.
