Uhlemann provides leadership for the legal affairs of LCS, the third-largest operator of senior living in the nation. LCS and its member companies manage over 130 senior living communities and serve more than 35,000 seniors. Uhlemann oversees the delivery of legal and compliance services to the organization, including overseeing a team of in-house attorneys, compliance analysts, and outside legal counsel. Her leadership was instrumental to the success of LCS’s planned recapitalization in 2021, including leading the company-wide due diligence and regulatory approval process across all states.
In the community, Bridgette serves on, and is the past chair of, the Alzheimer's Association, Iowa Chapter Board of Directors. Her leadership with the Alzheimer’s Association elevated fundraising efforts, including her work to spearhead the inaugural Purple Soirée event in 2019. The event has raised more than $810,000 since its inception. Bridgette’s vision for a world without Alzheimer’s disease also connected her with local health leaders to help conceptualize The Broadlawns Brain and Memory Center. This first-of-its-kind Center will revolutionize care for patients, caregivers, and families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease.
Bridgette is also the Secretary and Treasurer for the Mid-Iowa Association of Local Governments – a group of local mayors – who discuss local issues within the Des Moines metro such as affordable housing, diversity and inclusion, disaster preparedness, mental illness, workforce issues, economic development, homelessness, the opioid epidemic, and current legislative priorities.
At LCS, Bridgette has served on the LCS Foundation Board since 2020 and is active in many other LCS committees and volunteer efforts. Bridgette graduated from Drake University with a B.A. in English and Law, Politics and Society. She earned her law degree from Drake University.
Uhlemann will be recognized on March 28, 2024, during the Des Moines Business Record’s 2024 Forty under 40 event at the Prairie Meadows Conference Center in Altoona. To see the complete 2024 Forty under 40 class or register to attend the event, visit the Des Moines Business Record website.
