Glenview at Pelican Bay Executive Named Emerging Leader
Joanne Freeborn selected in LeadingAge Florida Awards Program
DES MOINES, Iowa. September 10, 2020 — Joanne Freeborn, Glencare clinical nurse manager, received the LeadingAge Florida 2020 Emerging Leader Award. She was recognized for making a difference in the lives of residents through active listening, taking initiative to address concerns and solve problems, and by meticulous follow-through to ensure positive outcomes. Services by the Glencare home care agency are provided by The Glenview at Pelican Bay, located in in Naples, Florida. The senior living community is managed by Life Care Services.
Joanne Freeborn, Glencare clinical nurse manager, received the LeadingAge Florida 2020 Emerging Leader Award.
“When one looks at an emerging leader, one needs to look at the many attributes that individual possesses,” says Patrick Noonan, executive director at The Glenview at Pelican Bay. “Speaking from my nearly 30 years of experience, I am most impressed with Joann’s abilities, her can-do attitude, and the innovative ideas she brings to our community.”
The nomination letter written by Joann’s colleagues reads, “Joanne mentors her team by routinely by walking them through the steps necessary to complete new processes and procedures. She ensures they have the tools and equipment needed to meet their goals and satisfactorily serve our residents.” The letter also outlines Joann’s many activities to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s and other memory-related diseases.
As noted by the staff at The Glenview at Pelican Bay, Joann not only meets the criteria set forth, she far exceeds the requirements.

Each year, LeadingAge Florida recognizes outstanding senior living communities, employees, and residents during annual convention and exposition. This year’s event was held August 24-26, 2020.
