Life Care Services Announces Chef of the Year Finalists

Life Care Services, an LCS Company, has announced the return of its annual “Chef of the Year” competition. The annual competition celebrates the hospitality and culinary talents of chefs located in senior living communities owned and managed by Life Care Services.
Five chefs will compete in a three-round, “chopped-style” cook-off in front of a live audience on July 21, at the Sysco Test Kitchens in Houston, Texas, with the final two chefs competing for the title at 2 p.m. (CST). Chef of the Year finalists were selected by a steering committee that reviewed applicant recipes, plated dishes and videos highlighting work in their respective communities. The winning chef will take home a $10,000 grand prize.
The five Chef of the Year finalists include:
- Jonathan King – The Heritage at Brentwood
- Raymond Maxwell Jr. – Freedom Village Brandywine
- Mike Prager – Clarendale of Algonquin
- Rob Silkey – Trillium Woods
- Jude Walker – Clarendale of Chandler
“We are excited to see the hard work and dedication of these chefs culminate at this competition and be recognized on a national scale,” said Jaclyn Gardner, Event Chair and Director of Operations Management for Life Care Services. “At LCS, Experience is Everything, and these chef finalists have displayed that focus through exceptional dining at their communities.”
A live-stream of the event will be available for media and to support community watch-parties. A link will be posted on the Life Care Services social media channels in the days leading up to the event.
