Newsweek’s inaugural “America’s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities 2024” rankings include 18 LCS communities

Eighteen LCS communities have been recognized on Newsweek’s inaugural “America‘s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities 2024” list. The prestigious award includes the top 250 Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) in the nation as presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.
“It’s an honor to have so many of our individual communities receive recognition and make LCS the most recognized provider on this first-ever listing,” said Chris Bird, LCS President and Chief Operating Officer. “Even more important, this recognition acknowledges the incredible work our communities and staff invest every day to provide a personalized and purposeful lifestyle for our residents.”
CCRCs are facilities that offer a continuum of long-term care options, allowing residents to access higher-level care when medical needs progress. The communities typically include Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing Care, and Memory Care.

Newsweek and Statista based the rankings on three data sources:

- Quality Dimension Scores for each recommended CCRC. Participants were asked to rate the following eight quality dimensions on a scale from 1 to 10.
- Accreditations: Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, accreditations relevant for CCRCs were considered.
